Privacy policy

Föreningen för Sveriges Hyresgäster (FSH), organisation registration number 802550-7990, protects the personal privacy of members, tenants and others who come into contact with the association's activities. This privacy policy describes how FSH processes personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (GDPR).


Data Controller

Föreningen för Sveriges Hyresgäster (FSH) is the data controller for the processing of personal data that takes place within the framework of the association's operations.

Which personal data is processed

FSH may process the following categories of personal data:

  • name
  • email
  • telefon number (for digital communication, including SMS)
  • information about which rental property the membership relates to
  • information about membership and living conditions
  • information provided in connection with market research or interviews


FSH does not normally process the full postal address of members. The association is based on the principle of data minimization and only processes the personal data that is necessary to administer membership and conduct the association's operations, as well as to ensure correct determination of voting rights according to the association's statutes.


For tenants who become members through their rental agreement, personal data is processed to fulfill the membership that follows from the contractual relationship. In connection with the registration of membership, FSH receives necessary personal data from the property owner concerned, such as name, email address, telephone number and information about which rental property the membership refers to. Information about rental properties is also processed to enable the correct establishment of the voting list at the association's general meeting.


Personal numbers or coordination numbers, may be processed to a limited extent in connection with digital meetings or other secure identification. The data is only used for secure identification and to ensure correct voting records and is not stored longer than is necessary for the implementation and documentation of the meeting.


When personal data are not collected directly from the data subject, the data subject is informed of the processing in accordance with Article 14 GDPR.


Purpose of the processing

Personal data is processed to:

  • administer membership in the association
  • provide the association's services
  • conduct advocacy and advocacy work
  • develop and evaluate the association's activities


For tenants who become members through their lease agreement, the processing takes place to fulfill the membership that follows from the lease agreement between the registered person and the property owner, where membership in the association constitutes a contractual condition.


FSH primarily communicates digitally with its members, mainly via email and in some cases via SMS for relevant member information.


Legal basis

The processing of personal data is carried out with the support of:

  • fulfillment of membership resulting from a lease agreement between the registrant and the property owner, where membership in the association constitutes a contractual condition
  • legal obligation
  • legitimate interest, where the interest in conducting the association's activities outweighs the data subject's privacy interest
  • consent, if applicable


Recipients of personal data

Personal data may be shared with:

  • suppliers and consultants who process data on behalf of FSH under personal data processing agreements
  • authorities when required by law

Personal data is not disclosed for marketing purposes.


Storage and thinning

Personal data is only stored for as long as it is necessary for the purposes of the processing, for the duration of the membership, or for as long as storage is required by applicable law.

If the need for legal or other formal communication arises that requires a postal address, such information is obtained from the data subject or via the property owner for the specific matter. The information is processed only for this purpose and is not stored longer than necessary.


Rights of the data subject

The data subject has the right to:

  • request access to their personal data
  • request correction or deletion
  • request restriction of processing
  • object to treatment
  • have their data transferred (data portability)
  • file a complaint with the Swedish Data Protection Authority (IMY)

Security

FSH takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or other unauthorised processing.
